Due to an infrastructure issue with an upstream provider and a resulting
data loss, some of our user data was irrevocably deleted between April
1 - April 5, 2008. Despite the date, unfortunately this is not a joke.
We apologize for the inconvenience and ask you to read this important information
and take the necessary steps (outlined below) to restore your account.
Our web hosting company’s data restore process was able to
recover only partial data only from the time period affected:
If your seller account was registered between April 1st and April
5th, and it is no longer allowing you to log in, please re-register
for your account.
If your account allows you to log in, but a payment that you made
to us is not listed in your account, just contact us at the page below
and we will link your payment with your user account.
If your account is still there, and you can see your account credit,
but your ads are not listed in your member center, then you will need
to re-post them.
50 States Classifieds has been experiencing our highest
traffic ever in 2008.
This
is due to a sharp increase in shoppers and search engine spiders, as
well as the huge number of new users registering for accounts. All
in all, this is fantastic news, but it also has a downside: it is now
time to look into upgrading our server and other necessary software.
We have also implemented new security measures, such as email verification
for all new members to prevent spammers from registering for an account.
Because we do not store any financial or sensitive information on our
website, and because we use paypal as our secure 3rd party payment processor,
you can feel secure that you, and your customers, will enjoy a safe and
easy shopping experience on our website!
