Create a Baptism, Confirmation or First Communion Cake!
Let this quarter sheet cake be the centerpiece of your Baptism, Confirmation, or First Communion celebration. It is about the same size as a standard 9 X 13 pan and will serve about 20 guests. I iced this white 1/4 sheet cake with white buttercream. After using a decorative comb on all four sides, I put on two different borders. The white top and bottom borders have a traditional shell design using a #20 tip and the light blue ruffle was made by a #104 rose tip. The location for the width and depth of the swags were marked with toothpicks. You could make a crucifix out of icing or purchase one made out of sugar or plastic. I purchased a large edible gold sugar cross from Cook's Cake Decorating & Candy Supplies store in West Allis, WI. A dollop of buttercream icing was applied to back of the gold sugar cross to hold it securely to the cake. The cross was placed at an angle on the cake so it could be surrounded by a few small blue roses and buds. More that half of the cake is blank which allows enough space for a personalized written blessing or dedication. Toni
