ROCKWELL GOLDEN MOMENTS COLLECTORS PLATES

This series consist of 8 plates on fine Knowles China, are 8-1/2 inch in diameter. Each plate in the series features a 22-karat gold band. The series is officially endorsed and certified by Rockwell Society as a true Rockwell classic. Produced 1987-1990, and each plate limited to 150 firing days.

Plate number One is Grandpas Gift, painted in 1922 when Norman Rockwell was a young man he managed to paint the satisfaction he would later come to enjoy in his own life. When you view Grandpas Gift you will note the expression of concentration on the old gentleman face as he applies the final coat of varnish to a cradle that will soon hold the first of a new generation. We can tell by the grandfather's expression that, right now, refinishing this family heirloom perfectly is the most important job in the world, and he is giving it all he has.

Plate number Eight "Evening's Repose" painted for a Hill's Brothers Coffee ad when Norman was thirty-six years old. As you view this plate you will note it has been a busy, bustling day. Now, at last the old gentleman can spend a quiet moment reflecting and sorting through the hectic events. As he sips a cup of his favorite coffee, feet propped up on an ottoman, he and his trusted terrier companion gaze dreamily into the fire. Familiar faces and memories appear in his mind's eye as he sits hypnotized by the flickering light of the fire.
